ParentZen Coaching

Why Parent Coaching

As a mother of three young adults and a certified parenting educator and coach, I know the humbling and joyful journey of raising children. My own experience as a mother inspired me to learn and grow—so I could become the kind of parent my children needed.

Through ParentZen, I support parents in cultivating calm, confidence, and self-trust—so you can thrive personally while becoming a steady, grounded foundation for your family. We begin by focusing on you, the parent, and then bring practical tools and mindfulness into everyday parenting so you can show up with greater presence, clarity, and compassion.

My Approach: Head + Heart + Gut

Parenting can keep us stuck in our heads—overthinking, second-guessing, and searching for the “right” answer. My head + heart + gut approach helps you draw on three essential sources of wisdom:

  • Head for clarity and practical strategy

  • Heart for compassion and connection

  • Gut for intuition and inner knowing

Using a blend of traditional coaching, parent education, mindfulness, and guided meditation, I offer a customized approach based on your goals and family dynamics. Together, we explore values, communication, boundaries, self-regulation, and ways to cultivate inner calm—regardless of what’s happening around you.

Ways to Work Together

One-on-One Virtual Coaching
Private sessions combine coaching, parent education, and guided practices to build awareness, groundedness, and meaningful forward movement toward your goals.

Small Group Workshops
I offer custom workshops for small groups of mothers and women at various life stages. Past topics include navigating relationships with college-age children, the “Second Spring” of life after children leave home, active listening and communication, self-regulation in stressful moments, boundaries and discipline, and the unique challenges of neurodiverse parenting. I’m happy to collaborate on a workshop tailored to your group.

ParentZen FAQs

Who do you work with?
My work is parent-focused. By supporting and shifting parents’ mindsets, tools, and responses, we naturally see changes in children and family dynamics. I work with parents of children at all ages and stages, either through one-on-one coaching or structured programs.

Do you work with parents of children with special needs?
Yes. I welcome and deeply value this work. I am a parent of a child with special needs myself, and I understand the added complexity, advocacy, and emotional load involved. Coaching can help parents find greater ease, clarity, and self-compassion while navigating these demands.

What is the Empowered Parent Course?
The Empowered Parent Course is a 10-week curriculum that provides a strong foundation for parenting with clarity and confidence. Topics include attachment science, nervous system and brain science, communication skills, emotional intelligence, play, and childhood development. Parents receive access to an easy-to-use online portal with videos, workbooks, and articles, and engage with the material at a pace that fits their schedule.

Is parent coaching the same as therapy?
No. Parent coaching is not designed to provide psychological, medical, or family therapy and should not be used as a substitute for those services.
